Things I Love Thursday - The Bachelorette!

If you couldn't tell from my Twitter feed, The Bachelorette has taken over my life this week!

I did a complete 180 after this Monday's episode - somewhere between the marionette puppet show and the now infamous "I want to date you so hard and marry the *$@# out of you" line, I am now 100% Team Jef.

As a result, I have regressed into a prepubescent teenage girl and spent the majority of my nights watching YouTube video montages of Jef & Emily to sappy love songs...very sad, but very true.

Thus, it's only fitting that I share my favorite Jef & Emily video montage with you on this week's Things I Love Thursday:

If that doesn't satisfy your Bachelorette craving, here's 2 very swoon-worthy interviews by Jef himself:

And a sneak peek into next Monday's episode!

 I can't wait to find out what Jef planned for his hometown visit that has blogs calling it 'the most romantic hometown moment in Bachelorette history"! Maybe there is some romantic pillow spinning? Is it just me, or is this 1-minute clip the most adorable thing?!

As one fan put it: "Emily seems to be her most happiest with Jef. Sean is the guy every mother wants their daughter to marry, Arie is the guy every girl dreams to be with but Jef is the guy that you can't help loving!"

Truer words have never been spoken!

How about you?
Are you a Team Jef, Team Arie, Team Sean, or Team Chris?
All I can say is, I have never been so excited for Mondays!

Spicy San Marzano Tomato Dip (with Bacon!)

With the onset of the hot Midwest summer weather, I've found myself in more of a snacks and small plates kinda mood - hence this week's double recipe of finger-friendly foods. Monday was a Whiskey Garlic Shrimp, and today, a Spicy San Marzano Tomato Sauce with Bacon!

Spicy Whiskey Garlic Shrimp... mmm mmm mmm!

This dish centers on lots and lots of fresh garlic, Fuego powder (if you haven't made your own Fuego powder yet, feel free to sub with lots of crushed red pepper), and garlic scapes.

Things I Love Thursday

On this week's Things I Love Thursday...

1 guest Curator spot on Klury.com (by yours truly):

Judging by Victoria's Summer date night outfit and her choice in Jimmy Choo's from Klury, it is no secret that she is one ultra stylish lady! We love the look she created using Klury's Balenciaga First, a show-stopping BCBG embellished blouse, and blue details with the Rebecca Taylor Maxi & a Pucci Scarf .  Be sure to visit her blog, Simply Vicky, for more fashion inspiration (along with an insane amount of amazing food porn)!  Thanks for curating this week, Victoria!

Fuego - The Spiciest Chili Powder on Earth!

For all you spice lovers, this is the creme de la creme!

Fuego is a handmade mix of peppers created by one of my friends here in Columbus. Fuego combines a bunch of peppers: habeneros, jalepenos, banana peppers, tobasco peppers, poblano, and a few others into one deliciously spicy mix - the perfect accompaniment on pizzas and pastas!

The process is labor-intensive but the result is well worth it! Here's the how-to:

Weekend Wrap Up

It was a lovely, lovely weekend here in Ohio! Brad and I kicked it off with our usual Friday night date night. On Saturday, two of my best friends and old roommates from college flew in for the weekend! It was so nice to see both of them and catch up on some much-needed girl time.

Baby Bok Choy with Shiitake Mushrooms

 My CSA share this week included some adorable baby bok choy...which takes me back to another dish from my childhood - Stir Fried Baby Bok Choy and Shiitake Mushrooms!

Such an easy and distinctly Asian side dish that takes all of about 20 minutes from start to finish.

 Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

 {Whether you're the new dad of a baby boy...}

 {...Or just a dad to a little pup!}

Hope you all have a great weekend, and don't forget to wish your dad a Happy Father's Day!

A Rustic Friday

{daisy-filled vase and a watering can}

{lovely textured dining space with pretty pink peonies}

{fresh flowers and berries in mason jars}

I've been loving rustic touches in the home lately.
It gives such an easy, comfy, lived in feeling - simple and charming.

What are your plans for the weekend? I'll be taking Gracie on her first official swimming playdate with  her best friend, Mason. I'm also thinking about trying out some new things for the blog - maybe some outfit posts!

Have a lovely weekend!

2 Lovely Articles:

One of my favorite Q&A:

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?

"It’s better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them."
- Anita, age 9 (bless you child)

Number 3 is one I definitely need to work on...

3. Don't criticize. Ever.
Here is a fact: Whatever critical thing that you are about to say to your wife is already being loudly articulated in her head. And if it's true, she already feels like crap about it. Assuming you married someone intelligent enough to like you and sane enough to let you put a ring on it, trust that they are self-aware enough to know when they screwed up. It may feel good to you in that moment to say the critical thing, let it go ringing through the air in all its sonorous correctness, but it will feel awful to hear it. The only, only way it's beneficial to give your wife criticism of any kind is if you're absolutely positive she is completely unaware. And you better find the nicest, kindest way possible to tell her. And even then, good luck convincing her. The recognition of the thing you are helpfully trying to point out will be INHIBITED, not facilitated, by your criticism. And then you're the asshole. So be careful.

Weekend Wrap Up

Is Wednesday too late for a Weekend Wrap Up?
I hope not!

This weekend was nice and relaxing in Columbus, a nice break from all the chaos from work and life in general. On Saturday morning, Brad and I woke up bright and early to go to the dealership to fix his leaky car tire, and somehow ended up in a 1950s Midwest Americana...

{A friendly neighborhood spot in the spirit of Americana - Village Crepe}

{Parisian crepes with powdered sugar and lemon}

{Potato pancakes}

{Bacon, Sausage, Spinach, Onion, Bell Pepper Frittata}

{Sourdough with a side of homemade cherry preserves|

{Dillion Panther Pride! Friday Night Lights, the best TV show ever}

{Stopped in and got my hair and make up done...I only wish}

{Picked up a few new & very promising coffee table reads - all for 90% off!}

{My new favorite statement necklace - from Target! Thanks, Erin!}

{Dropped off a few more items at Plato's...and picked up these bright summery wedges!}

{My first CSA share means that I've been eating salads all week}

{Fret not, I made sure to balance out my diet with some salty indulgences}

{And Gracie enjoyed her Sunday night dinner, spills and all. She's a survivor!}

P.S. Little Gracie is 5 months old as of today! Please wish her a happy birthday if you see her!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, and Happy Hump Day!
The weekend's just around the corner!

Klury.com: My Newest Obsession - and a Discount Code!

I am so excited to share my newest obsession: Klury.com!

Just when I thought I had built up a perfect little black book of shopping websites, along comes a new site that trumps them all!

Introducing Klury, a website that has somehow managed to combine my love of thrifting, luxury brands, vintage, re-sale, and amazing deals all into one nifty little website!

The concept is simple: trade in and exchange your designer wardrobes with other fellow fashionistas!
Here's the breakdown:

Sounds simple, right? It is! No more guilt-filled closet purges & no more waiting for months to find out if that designer item sold at your local consignment shop!

I was lucky enough to interview Mandy Russell, one of the co-founders behind this Father-Daughter Duo! Here's your behind-the-scenes exclusive into Klury.com!

Lemon & Kale Pasta

A little backstory: A few months ago, I signed up to be a part of my first ever CSA program through Terravita Farms.

Terravita Farms is a 100 acre family-owned farm that started in 2008 and is located in the rolling hills of Licking County, Ohio. It features naturally raised fruits, vegetables, eggs (chicken, duck, goose and turkey) and honey. It also produces a variety of meats including: chicken, duck,  turkey, goose, rabbit and lamb. Terravita Farms has a strong focus on heritage breeds of livestock and heirloom varieties of fruits, herbs and vegetables. All produce and livestock are raised without the use of pesticides, artificial growth enhancers or anything unnatural.
