New Love: Crane & Canopy

Last week, I tweeted about how excited I was for my new bedding set from Crane & Canopy. I was introduced to this Bay-area based company through a mutual friend, and I could not be happier for the discovery!

Crane & Canopy delivers high-end, designer bedding starting at an affordable $99 introductory price point. The design aesthetic of Crane & Canopy is simple yet beautiful - soft, calming colors that come in a variety of patterns and collections. All bedding is made with 100% long-staple cotton starting at 300+ thread count, and all I have to say is - the quality of this bedding is so, so soft!

For those of you who may be a little miffed by thread count, it's really very simple!

Thread count simply refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. Generally speaking, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheets. However, the bedding industry has played up "higher thread count = softer handfeel" idea so much that the common consumer forgets that there are various other details that go into quality bedding: fiber quality, yarn size, construction, finishing, etc.

A general rule of thumb to remember: The incremental "softness" of thread counts over 300 is very little. Often, a high quality, 300 thread count bedding can feel even softer than its 800 thread count rival.

As for me, I went with The Ashbury set, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! I loved how much care went into the little details of the packaging that gave it such a personal touch: a handwritten thank you card, plus a cute little lavender satchel. And for you dog lovers, fret not: little Gracie put her stamp of approval on this bedding with an instant puppy nap.

For you lucky readers, through the end of September, you'll receive $10 off any purchase over $50! Just subscribe to the C&C email list via their website and your offer code will be sent to your email - even more of a reason to pick one up in every color!
