The Pacific Northwest always held so much allure for me - namely Seattle, but Portland as well. I'd been there once in high school and loved it, and Brad had heard great things about it as well...and so we decided to make a little roadtrip to PDX to get the full PNW experience!
{Nothing but the open road and evergreens!}
{First stop: Pok Pok! Half a roasted game hen stuffed with lemongrass, cilantro, and other herby goodness, with papaya salad, sticky rice, and two dipping sauces = heavenly}
{Grilled corn with salted coconut cream}
{Thai style marinated baby back ribs in whiskey, soy, sugar, the magical list goes on}
{Brad getting in touch with his Taiwan roots and enjoying his Taiwan Beer}
{Walked off our bellies with a little tour of downtown Portland}
{Portland Outdoor Store}
{Loved Pok Pok so much that we decided to stop in for drinks at Ping, its sister restaurant}
{Just so happened to be HH, so it was only natural that we order a few apps, starting with the grilled baby octopus}
{Vietnamese style grilled shrimp with sea salt, pepper,and lime}
{And of course a little ramen never hurt anyone}
{Stayed at The Ace Hotel...highly recommend}
{Stopped by Rogue for a little beer}
{And a margherita pizza to cap off the night!}
{Stumptown Coffee was a must for the early morning wake up}
{Along with Portland's very own Voodoo Doughnut}
{Works of art, aren't they?}
Until next time, Portland! You will always have a special place in my heart (and tummy)!
P.S. Who caught The Bachelorette last night?
Jef and Arie, last ones left! Who are you rooting for? I'm #teamjef all the way!
